
Corn snakes don’t wag their tails when they’re excited to see you or curl up beside you when they’re content. That can make it difficult for new snake owners to know whether their pet is actually happy.

A comfortable corn snake generally eats normally, explores its surroundings, uses different areas of its enclosure, sheds successfully, and doesn’t spend most of its time displaying defensive or frantic behavior.
