
Bringing home a chinchilla involves more preparation than simply buying a cage, adding some food, and picking out a few toys.
Chinchillas have some unusual care requirements. They need plenty of room to move, constant access to hay, safe items to chew, a cool environment, and a dust bath rather than a traditional water bath.
